2007年10月21日下午，世界歌唱神童迪克兰-盖勒布雷思（Declan·Galbraith）亮相北京，为明年5月举行的首次世界巡回演唱会北京站宣传。并现场演唱了自己创作的歌曲。
被英国媒体誉为“终生难得一见的歌唱奇才”的迪克兰，早在4岁时就展露出在音乐方面的超常天赋。迪克兰的父亲Alec回忆“那天在酒吧有一个男人要他唱首歌来听，他立刻就又唱又跳了，唱的是Simon Cowell的歌，结果那个男人夸他的声音非常特别，把他带到了GMTV上去表演。”
八岁那一年，他在短短十四个月的期间内横扫英国乐坛，一举拿下英国十六个音乐大赛歌唱冠军，这样的成绩让成年人瞠目结舌，也引起了曾经谱写《最后的华尔兹》等许多经典的词作名家贝瑞-梅森的注意，不但担任他的制作人、为他编曲，更亲自为他谱写新歌。在贝瑞-梅森的推荐下，迪克兰录制了霍华德•布雷克创作、英国圣菲利普童声合唱团演唱的《Walking in the air》，引起轰动。
在贝瑞-梅森的栽培下，迪克兰开始了在英国女王的庆典音乐会上，跟圣保罗教堂唱诗班一起演唱《Amazing Grace》，以及应邀参加艾尔頓的演唱会，在两万多名观众面前表演等一连串不可思议的更大成功。这一切，使历来嗅觉灵敏的唱片界一时趋之若鹜，表现出极高的兴趣，最终EMI（百代）唱片公司以一百万英镑之巨的代价捷足先登，与迪克兰签约3年，并承诺发行3张唱片。
★ 十岁一飞冲天
2002年10月29日，十岁的迪克兰首张专辑《Declan》发表。在这张圣诞歌曲合辑中，迪克兰就在演唱技巧、演唱风格、曲目选择上表现出巨星气质和巨大的潜质，不管是翻唱的列侬、麦可杰克森、猫王、艾尔顿•约翰、和西城男孩等超级巨星的流行经典名曲，还是传统爱尔兰民间歌谣，以及原创的作品，他都在清新的诠释中展现了无懈可击的演唱技巧。在这张专辑中最值得一提的是一首轰动全球，在互联网上广为流传的主打原创作品「Tell Me Why」，在一支大型合唱团的搭配之下，对世间许多的现象提出了质疑，这样的內容，对于一个十岁的小男孩来说，确实又是比较「超龄」的，他的演唱技巧，确实是无懈可击，让我们听过之后，不得不深深回味他的音乐天才及歌曲的深刻意义。
他所翻唱的卡通《雪人》主題曲《Walking in the Air》，让那些原唱的“老前辈”们都惊诧不已，他甚至以无伴奏清唱的方式，“率領”一支庞大的成年人合唱团，演唱了享誉世界的福音歌曲《Amazing Grace》，这支单曲还帮助迪克兰缔造了一项“吉尼斯世界纪录”：当他在贝尔法斯特巡回演唱的時候，主办单位透过电话与网络的连线，让超过八万名儿童，在英国与爱尔兰的每一个角落，陪伴着他一起演唱，成了有史以来全世界规模最庞大的合唱。
第一张唱片给迪克兰带来巨大的成功，使他从此一鸣惊人，获得各大媒体争相报道，上遍几乎所有电视与电台的节目，成了英国与爱尔兰家喻户晓的名人。除了英国和爱尔兰，包括德国在內，许多欧洲国家也纷纷邀请他前去演唱。就连Simon Cowell听过他的歌唱，也不禁同意，这个小家伙潜力十足，假以时日，必定能够成为超级大明星。
★ 十四岁一骑绝尘
正当人们认为迪克兰的演艺事业将走上快车道的时候，他却在父母的帮助下规避了急功近利的发展道路。
迄今为止，十五岁的迪克兰-盖勒布雷斯共出版了两张个人专辑。而他的第二张专辑《Thank You》，与第一张专辑相隔整整四年之久，才由另外一家唱片公司发行，并且选在德国推出，这让其他地区的歌迷们几乎是望眼欲穿。
迪克兰在开始录制这张专辑的时候已经十四岁，但他的声线，仍然维持着原有的嘹亮高音。但他的演唱技巧与风格，跟四年前又不太一样了，“流行”的感觉更为浓厚。而在曲目的挑选上，也延续着上一次巨星经典金曲翻唱和传统民谣结合的模式。“凱利家庭”合唱团脍炙人口的《An Angel》、Don McLean向梵高致意的经典《Vincent》、“Diana Ross & the Supremes”曾经轰动歌坛的《Where Did Our Love Go》等曲目，使整张专辑相当悅耳动听，一经推出就在德国获得良好的反应，很快达到金唱片的销量，到目前为止，这张新专辑仅在德国销售量超过10万！打进了德国专辑排行的前五名。
